Furwaggle Chapter 8

Chapter 8
Opposites can attract.

It’s a fine day as always in the fictitious dreamland, called, Furwaggle. The sun was shining as always, the birds were; well you know, what birds always do. Everyone still had fond memories of the musical concert from last week.
Wiggles and Fluffy were on their daily walk and talking about how much fun they had at the concert. Fluffy was re-telling about being asked for his autograph. With each time he told the story, it got more and more detailed and inflated. He was just finishing up with, “…and then she just walked right up to me and asked for my autograph.” Wiggles then said with a little grin, “Fluffy, you're becoming so popular, why don’t you get some cards made, so you can just hand them out if you ever get asked again.” Fluffy stopped for a moment and then with a thoughtful look on his face he said, “You know Wiggles, that may be a good idea. They could come in handy if I was ever to go on tour or something.” Wiggles didn’t say anything but just gave a little snicker, it was so much fun to bait Fluffy.
At about that time, Fluffy saw Betty Feline slinking up the path
toward them. Fluffy gushed out, “Oh my god, here comes that nasty Betty again.” It was just yesterday, while on their walk, they had encountered her and it wasn’t all that much fun for Fluffy. He still had a small scratch on his nose when Betty had been offended at something Fluffy must have said. Wiggles had just marked it up to something in the DNA, that made Fluffy feel the way he did about Betty Feline, or maybe it was just the way she arced her back, whenever she was near Fluffy. She seemed to carry a chip on her shoulder, where Fluffy was concerned. In a soft whisper, Wiggles said to Fluffy, “now be nice.” And then in a normal tone, he said to Betty, “Good morning Miss Feline, how are you this fine day?” With that, Betty slinked up next to Wiggles and with a purr, she replied, “Why, I’m just fine Mr. Wiggles.” Then, to Fluffy, she hissed, “and how about you Mr. Fluffy? Is your nose healing ok?” With that, Fluffy dropped down and put both front paws over his nose. Wiggles figured that Fluffy had taken a defensive position; while not very elegant, it did protect an exposed vulnerable part that had taken some abuse at their last encounter. With a somewhat muffled voice Fluffy replied, “You didn’t lay a glove on me lady.” Again in a soft purring voice Betty said to Fluffy, “Well I just wanted to apologize for my behavior yesterday, I was just having a bad hair day, but I’m much better now. In fact, I brought you this little peace offering. Just don’t say anything about felines being lazy fur balls.” Fluffy looked up over his paws, and there was Betty holding out a cookie for him. With that Fluffy jumped up and said, “Why thank you Miss Betty, that’s very nice of you.” Wiggles thought that there was a really smart girl; she was attacking Fluffy at his weakest point. Wiggles said to both, “Why don’t we continue on our walk and get to know one another.”
With that the three of them started down the path. In a perky voice Fluffy said, “Did you know that I got asked for my autograph at the musical concert last week? Well, let me tell you about it……” Oh no, thought Wiggles, here we go again. At least, there was peace again in this fictitious dreamland of Furwaggle. My tiny mind thinks that a peace offering of a simple cookie can go a long way.
